unholy rhythms

It isn't about if you're the first to hear the music, but the fact that you're hearing it at all. I have an unnatural addiction to music. This is an attempt to "archive" my tastes with collections of links/downloads. follow me: twitter | last.fm | hype | email me: ohunholyrhythms Send me your track *if you want me to remove a link or send me music, email me.

♫ Purple - I will never see you again

Purple - I will never see you again

Concerned I would be remembered, I began an attempt to cover up the bloodied, crimson footprints I unwillingly left behind. My oily fingertips, stained from the gore, feverishly began to wipe away the reminders of brutality. Twirling. Snaking. Distracted by your weakened wails and lamentations as they echoed through the bare, carnage-tinged halls, I began to shake with madness. Hurried, I finished erasing the evidence of my existence when I realized that my work wasn’t near completion. Cracking my jaw, my twisted neck and back, I slowly snapped every contoured vertebrae in place. Determined to extinguish every sign of my existence. Vehement vanquisher. Eager exterminator.

Portugal’s Purple embraces and creates dreamy, instrumental gothic soundscapes. Foggy and lush, with ambrosial, vexing synths that creep and ascend - often lurking, crawling, slowly escalating to a gentle, intoxicating build. The instrumentation wails and moans while accompanied by clandestine, unsure handclaps. Until the crescendo, humble and hesitant languidly reveals itself. Unknown, coaxing provocateur - convincing you to abandon all inhibitions.

♫ Yojimbo Billions - Blowzy

I would wait in the night, solemnly and silent, for your anticipated return. Trees clawed at the windows like goblins announcing their arrival. The floorboards would creak and moan - swelling and exhaling. Shadows, larger than walls themselves, began to creep closer towards me. Their long, skeletal, murky fingers beckoning me to leave my near-slumber state. My bed would begin to tremble - shaking and quivering violently. My lip, now slightly swollen and bleeding, fluttered as the warm blood trickled down my porcelain, quaking chin. This nefarious treat, unhallowed and cursed, was all I needed to evoke you. You were here and I, your Mephistophelian mistress, could not be more pleased.

Yojimbo Billions’ “Blowzy” plays out like an invocation for all ghostly, fiendish creatures to arise and frolic. It opens with a somber yet delicate tune - like a dirge for a fallen loved one - only to be meet with pulsating and pounding basslines. A heartbeat, that quickened pace, slows as the piece contains its composure. It all begins again - that calling, that conjuring of iniquitous forces. Welcomed wicked legions for a sinister gathering.

♫ Yabba - "Bird of Prey" [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This track, along with Knight Stalker below, marks the start of good vibes/dance party Friday. Forget all of your troubles, all of your weighty worries and fiery frustration, and head bob/shoulder/universe dance by yourself. Headphones on - volume all the way up - and vibe.

“Bird of Prey”, contains an inching beat that creeps over samples which glisten and glimmer. The steady pounding - resounding and persistent - meets delicate twinkling starry effects. Cosmic breakdowns combine with a foggy fortitude only terminate too abruptly. Fantastic.

Music does sound better with my boi - the seriously amazing - Leaving Scene.

YABBA - “BIRD OF PREY”

This track is like a foggy San Francisco morning.  An atmospheric head-bobber for the cold concrete.

With a hip-hop twist, Yabba provides the perfect amount of starry-eyed synth; a hypnotism of sorts.

He’s got zero info available, just a tiny little SoundCloud and a mysterious icon. I hope to hear more from this artist very soon.

Moths - Slow/Down

One of two songs that are available from Ireland’s lo-fi, blissful Moths. Jubilant yet somewhat restrained, “Slow/Down” plays out like a sort of glitchy, stop-and-start mantra. Lyricless yet urgent in its delivery - like a mute, tenaciously warning harbinger.

♫ Monster Rally - "Moonglow" [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Oh, come dance with me - under the trees of the green and skies of blue.
Oh, come rest with me - under the frosty clouds and falling leaves.
Oh, come listen with me - under the pimpled ceiling and hardwood floors.
Oh, come be with me - under the right times and the warm places.
Oh, come kiss me - under the moon lit sky with chilled, bitter winds.
Oh, come love me.

Monster Rally just released Moonglow - a lovely 3 song digi single full of warm, luminescent loops and exotica aural pleasure. It pulls you out of the ennui, out of the bitter chilled winds that might surround your body and envelops you with whimsy in standard, sublime Monster Rally fashion. Lovely - loop scholars.

♫ Lush - "Dreaming Airport" [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

I would walk, staring at the sky, while music flowed in and out of my ears. The sky would change colors, the clouds would move in time to the beat, and my heart would soar out of my rib cage. If the thought of you crossed my mind, I could swear you were right beside me. Our invisible hands, gripped tightly, while we walked in transparent, imaginary unison down the brick street. A warmth would envelop my entire being, warming me from head to toe, as the bitter wind fought to devour me. From time to time, I would take a moment to jump in the layers of leaves that fell under the trees. This would distract from the absence I felt. My carefree display of juvenile playfulness created a complacent shadow which would emerge when I was at my lowest points. You, my apparition, were my one true happiness - my love and heart.

Lush - Hidden Landscapes - gorgeous, layered and luxurious chill soundscapes.

♫ Ricky Eat Acid - "because" [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Searching desperately for answers, I stared longingly at your face. Not that long ago, you had invited me, playfully, to take ownership of your heart. With a glimmer in your eye, you indicated that it was acceptable for me to grasp, cradle, or consume it. We would spend hours reflecting upon things that would only be considered romantic between the two of us. Every hint of interest, every superlative and praise, I would become more enamored with your quirks. Because of my tainted and confused mind, I could not understand you as clearly as other people might have. Anything remotely positive you presented to me, I merely acknowledged as niceties. I was on a mission to prove to myself that someone like you could not adore someone like me. I wore my heart on my sleeve for all to see yet you seemed to overlook it. How desperately I wanted your approval, your laughter, and your warm embrace - answers. Desolate and despairing devotee.

Glowing. Loving. Haunting. Gorgeous. Gracious. Gentle. Ascending. Descending. Translucent. Breathtaking. Beauteous. Tear-inducing.  Melancholic. Transcendental. Humble. Glittering. Magnificent. Mellifluous. Pleasing. Sublime. Sumptuous. Exhale - Ricky Eat Acid.
