♫ DJ Deathray

Catching a glimpse of my appearance, I recoil in fear. Unwilling to accept the vision of what I see before me as reality, I strain to swallow my trepidation. Trying to make sense of what I observe, I stare at the images before my blood-shot eyes. Swollen from sorrow, I creep closer to the alluring, monstrous reflection. My hands examine the tender, olive hued flesh - prodding and pulling - stretching and slapping - hoping that in time the veneer will flake. I could sense the stares from bystanders - the ferocious watchers that soon gathered around me. They would make their repulsion known gasping like a loud wind as their gazes fell upon my ghastly countenance. Trying to conceal my misshapen body, I begin to pluck and tear - culling my cells as I try to accept my existence. Striving to remain unseen, desiring nothing more than to withdraw, my knees give away as I shield myself under the silky, welcoming gauze. Monstrous mistress - heinous, hellish degenerate - mutant maiden.
DJ Deathray, from Portland, may just be my favorite new enchantress. Strictly speaking, DJ Deathray crafts fuzzed out sounds, reverb laden vocals, and pulsating synths into a hypnotic distorted dark pop blend. Masked invocations hide behind sinister yet effervescent melodies. Melodies frolic like devilish imps rejoicing in mischief -joyously prancing as the devilment slowly engulfs the calamitous creatures.
