We fought slime and sludge, jumping over the decaying trees, our guns illuminating a radiant yellow. You’d zoom one way, I’d swerve another. And when we needed it, we’d collect our first aid - regenerating the health we needed to fight those toxic mutants. It was our job to destroy the pulsating machines, the rolling filth, and the gurgling blobs which spat at us like geysers. Our agenda, after our cereal and Saturday morning cartoons, was to save the world. We were invincible.
MémoireD’amour returns with another highly intoxicating track. Synths oscillate, quiver, and tick over a marching beat. His mellifluous and delicate vocals shyly appear and disappear, fusing together in a pining chorus. I can’t say exactly what it is, maybe it is the warbling and throbbing sounds, but it made me feel like a global gladiator all over again. Magnificent.
